Eternal Tombs Dev Says MMO Was Built Solo, Steam Demo Coming Soon
Eternal Tombs, the MMO formerly known as War of Dragnorox, is aiming for an early March 2027 launch, according to new comments from Triune’s Josh. He also confirmed that the game has largely been a solo project for around nine years, covering programming, art direction, server work, and store-bought assets.
That solo development detail was apparently kept quiet on purpose. Josh said the team avoided talking about it earlier because they worried players would dismiss the project before seeing it for themselves. Eternal Tombs is also self-funded, and the current plan is to launch without microtransactions.
A Steam demo is expected “any day” once Valve approves it. The build is also planned for the Oct. 19-26 Steam Next Fest, with roughly 5 to 20 hours of playable content depending on how much players explore.
The demo will include a couple of seasonal and live event hooks too. Hallowed Grave is a Halloween-themed event, while Tomb Master is tied to the game’s live GM concept, where staff can directly run events inside the world.
As for the full MMO, Triune is talking up more than 30 zones, plus dungeons, fortresses, raids, and secret areas unlocked through quests and endgame progression. Combat is still being polished, but Josh compared its current direction to something closer to New World’s action-heavy feel than a traditional tab-target MMO.
