Eclipse: The Awakening Gets Its First Update With 20-Player RvR Battleground
Smilegate has rolled out the first content update for Eclipse: The Awakening, adding a new faction-based RvR mode called High River Battleground.
The new battleground puts 20 players into two teams of 10 for a 10-minute match. Factions earn points by killing enemy players and chaining kill streaks, with the first side to hit the target score taking the win. The map also uses elevation changes, so positioning should matter more than in a flat arena. Players respawn immediately after dying, and entry is handled through random matchmaking.
The update also brings the Find the Hidden Dodor hot-time event. During the event, gold gains are up 30% across all areas, while Dodor can appear in fields at set times outside certain zones. Players who interact with it receive a gold box.
Smilegate also included the first round of balance and progression changes it previously discussed during its September 14 developer livestream. Fighter and Assassin have received survivability improvements, melee classes now get a dash that automatically closes distance to targets while hunting, and overall gold drop rates have been increased.
More server capacity is coming too. The new Belzera world is opening servers in stages, with three servers scheduled for 8:00 PM on September 16 and another three set for 10:00 AM on September 19.
Smilegate says the update was shaped by player feedback since launch and that it plans to keep tuning the game from here.
