Dune: Awakening is easing up on durability loss next week, plus a small Chapter 3 hotfix is out now

Dune: Awakening is about to get a noticeable change to how punishing gear loss feels. Funcom says a durability tweak is coming next week, aimed at making it less painful to bring valuable items into risky fights and tougher content.

According to the Discord post, base item durability is being doubled for everything except scrap-tier gear. That includes higher-value kit like power packs, compactors, and suspensor belts.

On top of that, durability loss when you’re defeated is being reduced from 5% to 2%. The cap on durability loss is also dropping from 20% to 15%, which means a fully repaired item will top out at 85% durability instead of 80%.

Funcom notes it may still need to do more work in this area, but this round is meant to make taking risks feel more reasonable.

There’s also a smaller update live today that cleans up some issues tied to Chapter 3. The patch notes mention server stability fixes and bug squashes, plus one quality-of-life change for a mission objective: the Sensor Antenna in the Rift Recon mission has been moved after some players had it blocked by nearby bases.

Today’s patch also makes it possible to transfer a character to a full or locked server if you’ve got a friend there.
