Diablo 4’s Lunar Awakening event returns February 12 with shrine XP boosts and a new mount
Diablo IV is bringing back its Lunar Awakening limited-time event from February 12 to February 26 (starting 10 a.m. PST), and it will run on both Eternal and Seasonal realms. The hook this year is simple: shrines across Sanctuary are replaced with Lunar Shrines that grant a 100% bonus to experience for two minutes when activated, alongside an upgraded version of the shrine’s usual effect.
Blizzard says you’ll also earn Ancestral Favor Reputation while using these shrines, which can be turned in for event rewards at the Lunar Night Market in Ked Bardu. Details are in the official post.
During the event, Lunar Shrines get their own map icon, and activating one immediately spawns “Miserly Spirits” so you can put the boosted shrine power to use right away.
The event’s reputation track has 10 levels, with rewards including a Resplendent Spark and six Lunar-themed cosmetics. The standout is a new mount, Trag’Oul’s Consort. Blizzard also notes that this year’s cosmetics can be earned regardless of whether you picked up rewards in previous Lunar Awakening runs.
Here are the augmented shrine effects Blizzard highlighted:
- Artillery Shrine: casts can summon a holy bomb
- Blast Wave Shrine: explosions summon a cluster bombardment
- Channeling Shrine: increased attack speed and a chance to reset cooldowns
- Conduit Shrine: more frequent, stronger shocking strikes
- Greed Shrine: chance to summon a Treasure Goblin, and kills can summon goblins while active
- Lethal Shrine: chance to execute monsters and Fear nearby enemies (works on Elites, not Bosses or other players)
- Protection Shrine: reflect incoming damage, scaling with level and difficulty
Blizzard also confirmed Lunar Awakening-themed outfits will be sold in Tejal’s in-game shop during the event, though pricing wasn’t included in the announcement.
