Camelot Unchained developer vlog talks art tools, textures, and realm armor looks

Camelot Unchained has a new developer vlog up, and this one’s mostly a behind-the-scenes check-in on the game’s visuals. It doesn’t come with any big feature reveals or a new testing schedule, but it does outline what the art team’s been working with lately.

In the 13-minute video, City State Entertainment runs through a few of the tools and day-to-day considerations that shape how the RvR MMO looks right now, including ongoing texture and tech updates. They also call out a newer internal tool named Gaia, which the team says helps procedurally generate natural features for zones.

Armor gets a specific mention too. The devs talk about designing gear so each realm reads as distinct at a glance, which matters a lot in a faction-based game where quick identification can change how fights play out.

What you won’t find here is a firm timeline for wider access. The studio notes that testing is still happening for backers behind the scenes, but this vlog isn’t positioned as a progress milestone with dates attached.

For anyone keeping track: Camelot Unchained was Kickstarted in 2013 and has been in “beta one” since 2018. The game’s planned 2025 early access window was previously pushed into 2026.
