Broken Ranks is overhauling Trials of the Lodge on February 11
Whitemoon Games, the “story-driven MMORPG” developed in Poland, is rolling out a sizable overhaul for Broken Ranks’ Trials of the Lodge on February 11. The big theme here is less forced progression and fewer “welp, guess I’m stuck” moments, across both solo and party runs.
Weekly Trial entries are still refreshing on Mondays, and the studio says there aren’t any extra resets planned alongside the patch.
The headline change is that Trials won’t push you into higher difficulty tiers automatically anymore. You’ll still unlock higher tiers once you meet the level requirements, but now you can choose to stay in a lower tier if your build isn’t ready, or you just want a smoother climb.
Rewards are getting reshuffled too. Aithar payouts are being moved deeper into runs, so later rooms matter more. In Trial of the Masters, Whitemoon says the first ten rooms should pay out about the same total aithars as before, but rooms after that will pay noticeably more. For other Trials of the Lodge, a full clear should land around the same total aithar as it does now.
Loot tables are also changing. Rare drops and level 100 set pieces will be less common, while synergetics and drifs are set to appear more often. The stated goal is to curb the oversupply of high-end items without making Trials feel pointless.
On the progression side, Trials will start using weekly Might checks and will base calculations on your maximum Might without temporary buffs or guild bonuses. If you’re heavily outscaling a Trial’s recommended level or Might, rewards get reduced, especially in Novice through Tracker tiers.
Whitemoon also notes some combat-focused tweaks, including resistances shifting from percentage-based values to flat point values, and a two-round cap on stuns and freezes in solo Trials. More details are in the official post.
