ArenaNet Details Warden’s Watch, Guild Wars 3’s First Major Social Hub

ArenaNet has shared a first look at Warden’s Watch, the first major player social hub revealed for Guild Wars 3. The studio introduced the location in an official news post on October 16, framing it as a key settlement in Orr’s Tughra Basin and the base of operations for the Vaelwardens.

The post is mostly lore rather than a systems breakdown, so don’t expect a full list of vendors, activities, or services just yet. What ArenaNet is laying out is the role Warden’s Watch plays in the world: a town built around the remains of a dormant Forgotten tower, used by wardens as a place to rest, resupply, and trade news after time in the wilds.

According to the narrative team, Warden’s Watch grew out of a disaster tied to Orr Thulon, a massive aerial spirit whose death left part of Tughra Basin scarred and magically unstable. The Vaelwardens established their vigil near the site, and over time that camp became a layered settlement with guild facilities, homes, workshops, a tavern, and more recent additions from other groups in Orr.

ArenaNet also uses the hub to set up current tensions in the region. The Mavenwrights, who previously worked in the Watch, have been barred from entering after their fall from favor, while raids and political pressure around the settlement are growing. A newer temple tied to the Church of the Six also suggests Warden’s Watch is becoming more important to greater Orr than it used to be.

One small tease came outside the hub itself: ArenaNet said it plans to introduce Guild Wars 3’s fourth playable species in December. No further details were included in this post.

For now, Warden’s Watch sounds less like a polished capital city and more like a working frontier town with history baked into its streets. ArenaNet hasn’t said when players will get to visit it in-game.
