Genshin Impact’s Luna V update lands Feb. 25 with a Mondstadt return and playable Varka

Genshin Impact is heading back to Mondstadt with its next update, Luna V, arriving February 25. The patch adds new story content, a handful of events and minigames, and finally makes Varka playable.

The update’s full title is “Song of the Welkin Moon: Variation – Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind.” Varka joins the roster as a 5-star Anemo claymore user, built around a dual-wield style that can deal two types of Elemental damage at the same time. HoYoverse says his Elemental Skill buffs his normal attacks and changes the damage type of his right-hand weapon depending on your teammates, while the left-hand claymore deals Anemo damage.

Story-wise, the patch ties Varka into new content set in Nod-Krai, where he leads allies against a threat called the Wild Hunt. There’s also a free weapon appearance to earn for both of his weapons by playing through the new content, according to the announcement.

On the event side, “Echoes of Memory” is framed around revisiting familiar scenes with small changes. The goal is to spot what’s different and record it. Another event has you reconnecting with returning characters while you craft drinks tailored to each person. There’s also a Kamera-focused minigame for taking photos of sights from your travels.

Miliastra Wonderland is getting a new voice feature and related modes as part of the update. More details are in HoYoverse’s official post.
