Wuthering Waves update 3.1 is live with the Roya Frostlands and a batch of QoL changes

Wuthering Waves update 3.1, titled Frostlands Surface, is now live on all platforms. Along with a new snowy zone called the Roya Frostlands, Kuro Games is rolling out a bunch of practical upgrades aimed at making progression, farming, and general play feel less fiddly.

The big theme this time is speed and convenience. Leveling is faster, material farming has been simplified, and there are new tools for upgrading Echoes in batches. If you’re hunting specific upgrade mats, the game now includes direct map tracking to enemies that drop what you need.

On the tech side, Kuro says it’s made performance and stability improvements on PC and mobile, with fixes aimed at stutters and lower-spec devices in particular. Some higher-end mobile devices are also getting expanded graphics options and more environmental detail in snowy areas. Controller support is getting tweaks too, including vibration feedback in more situations on PC and console.

The patch also opens up the snow-covered Roya Frostlands and continues the main story, with new plot beats tied to Resonance and Exostrider tech.

Character-wise, 3.1 adds Aemeath, a Fusion-attribute Resonator. She uses a five-star sword called the Everbright Polestar, and her kit revolves around summoning a mech and merging with it mid-fight to shift into a different combat form.

Finally, the Expedition Motorbike is getting a few quality upgrades, including a Glacier Track ability for crossing open water, enhanced autopilot, and fast travel to beacons. Mobile players can also opt into a joystick control scheme, alongside camera improvements.
