Dune: Awakening Chapter 3 is live with a Landsraad revamp and new endgame progression
Funcom has rolled out Chapter 3 for Dune: Awakening, and it’s a big one for anyone already at or nearing endgame. The update is live now, adding new story content alongside a reworked Landsraad system, new progression paths, and a grab bag of combat and quality-of-life changes.
On the story side, Chapter 3 continues the game’s main narrative and starts from a social hub, where an NPC will reach out to kick things off. The update also adds five repeatable Testing Stations built around escalating enemy difficulty and rewards, including higher-tier weapons and blueprints.
The headline mechanical change is the Landsraad overhaul. It now offers a wider range of endgame missions tied to different playstyles, including exploration, dungeons, and crafting. Completing these missions can pay out Solari Credits and XP, but also Landsraad house progression, faction standing, House Scrip for augmentation materials, and experience for the new specialization tracks. Funcom also added four new locations designed specifically for these Landsraad missions.
Chapter 3 also introduces Specializations, letting players focus into Crafting, Gathering, Exploration, Combat, or Sabotage for additional traits aimed at higher-level play. There’s also a new Augmentation Station for pushing Tier 6 gear further.
Other notable additions include the removal of base taxes, returner rewards, and a new Dual Blade melee class. The Rapier has been reworked, early Deep Desert areas now have more Rock Islands, and a new Vehicle Backup Tool can teleport your vehicle to your current location, using the destroyed-vehicle recovery cost. Full details are in the patch notes.
Funcom has also previously said a console release is planned for 2026.
