TEPPEN

TEPPEN is a free-to-play, 2D online collectible card game that pulls fighters, monsters, and villains from across Capcom’s biggest franchises. Instead of traditional turns, it uses a real-time Active Battle System where MP builds continuously, so matches feel more like a quick duel than a slow chess match. If you enjoy fast decisions, tight timing, and recognizable characters, TEPPEN’s format stands out in the mobile CCG space.

Overview

TEPPEN Overview

TEPPEN brings a crossover lineup of Capcom icons into a competitive card battler built around real-time decision making. Rather than waiting for alternating turns, your MP steadily refills during the match, letting you drop Creature Cards onto the field, spend Action Cards for utility or burst damage, and react immediately when your opponent tries to swing momentum. The result is a CCG that rewards timing, matchup knowledge, and the ability to read what your opponent is setting up.

Deckbuilding is organized around four deck types, letting you lean toward different game plans depending on how you like to play. From there, you tune your list with cards representing characters and enemies pulled from across the Capcom catalog, giving the game a strong fan-service edge without losing the fundamentals of a competitive card game.

You select one of eight featured heroes as your leader: Ryu, Chun-Li, Dante, Morrigan, Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, Nergigante, and Rathalos. Each hero has their own play tendencies and a set of Hero Arts, which function like signature finishers or pivotal swing tools. For players who prefer structured progression, the game includes a single-player story campaign that ties the heroes’ narratives together, while competitive players can jump into Ranked or the rotating Grand Prix formats to test decks against opponents worldwide. Win or complete objectives to earn Gold and Tickets, then spend those to open card packs and expand your options.

TEPPEN Key Features:

  • Legendary roster – choose from eight Capcom heroes and collect cards spanning Street Fighter, Mega Man X, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Darkstalkers, and Monster Hunter.

  • Active Response – use quick Action Cards to interrupt, counter, and punish at the right moment.
  • Hero Arts – character-specific power moves including Ryu’s Hadouken, Jill Valentine’s Rocket Launcher, and Dante’s Ebony & Ivory.
  • Multiple Game Modes – progress through Story Mode, practice and learn in Chronicles, or compete in Ranked and Grand Prix matches.

TEPPEN Review

TEPPEN’s biggest strength is that it does not feel like a typical mobile CCG. The real-time MP system creates constant pressure, and even simple turns like “play a unit and pass” become a question of spacing your resources, baiting responses, and deciding when to hold MP for an instant answer. Matches tend to be short and sharp, which makes the game easy to fit into quick sessions while still offering plenty of room for mastery.

The Active Response layer is where the game’s identity really shows. Being able to fire off Action Cards on the fly means you are rarely locked into a plan once you commit a creature to the board. That said, the same system can be a hurdle for new players because it asks you to learn timing windows, read animations, and recognize common patterns. If you come from turn-based card games, the transition can feel abrupt until you get comfortable making decisions quickly.

Deckbuilding is approachable because the hero choice and deck type push you toward a coherent strategy, but there is still meaningful depth in how you tune your curve and how many reactive tools you bring. TEPPEN rewards players who understand when to spend MP immediately and when to float resources to threaten a counter. In ranked play, that “tempo management” becomes as important as raw card quality.

Presentation is also a major draw. The artwork is bold and stylized, and the crossover appeal is strong, especially if you have any history with Capcom’s franchises. Seeing familiar faces translated into card form, complete with signature Hero Arts, gives the game a distinct personality that helps it stand out in a crowded genre.

Overall, TEPPEN is best suited to players who want a competitive card game with a faster rhythm than the norm. If you prefer slower, deliberative turns, the pace may feel stressful. If you enjoy quick reactions and momentum swings, it is one of the more distinctive options on mobile.
