TechWars Online Overview
TechWars Online is a hex-based, turn-driven strategy title set in the universe of Mikhail Vlad’s Techwars novel. It starts with a 10-mission campaign designed as a structured tutorial, introducing the core systems while also presenting the corporations you can side with later. Once those missions are complete, the focus shifts toward assembling a competitive lineup of up to five mechs, each tailored with equipment selections—such as armor and weaponry—to support a specific approach.
Mechs aren’t merely empty frames; they’re controlled by pilots who can be strengthened over time through neuroimplants, adding another layer of squad planning beyond the machines themselves. After both players finalize their squads, battles revolve around smart positioning and careful turn order management until one side has no functioning mechs left.
In addition to standard matches, there are modes centered on territorial competition and organized events (battle mode and tournament mode). One of the game’s standout choices is its fully deterministic combat model—no crits, no lucky dodges, and no random swings. As a result, preparation, adaptation, and matchup knowledge tend to decide who wins.
TechWars Online Key Features:
- Build a Distinct Five-Mech Roster – outfit each unit with your preferred armor packages and weapon sets.
- Fully Deterministic Combat – victories are earned through decisions, not dice rolls or sudden crit streaks.
- Positioning-Centric Tactics – facing direction, cover, and the specific hex you occupy all influence the flow of a fight.
- PvP First – the game is primarily built around competitive play where different mech builds can succeed.
- Pilot Progression – use neuroimplants to enhance pilots and shape your squad around preferred advantages.
