Overview

Survived By Overview

Survived By is a roguelite-inspired MMO from Human Head Studios built around short, intense sessions of dodging, aiming, and positioning. Moment to moment, it plays like a classic bullet hell, enemies flood the screen, attacks come in readable patterns, and survival depends on movement discipline as much as damage output. Unlike many MMORPGs that focus on long-term character permanence, Survived By leans into permadeath as a core pillar.

The main twist is what happens when you die. Your run ends, but the game converts your accumulated progress into a special currency called Valr. Valr is then spent on Legacies, passive upgrades that apply to future characters, giving the overall experience a “fail forward” structure. You still chase levels, gear, and relics while you are alive, but the long-term goal is strengthening your account through these Legacy improvements.

Outside of combat, Survived By pushes a light MMO loop. You roam an open world gathering materials and money, then use the crafting system to build weapons and armor before heading into procedurally generated dungeons. Those dungeons are where the game’s roguelite side stands out most, more enemies, more loot, and tougher encounters, including bosses, all in layouts designed to keep runs feeling varied. At launch, there are three starter classes (Harbinger, Alchemist, and Infiltrator), each with their own playstyle and kit, and additional classes become available once you reach level 25.

Survived By Key Features:

  • Quick Bullet Hell Combat fast, readable fights that reward sharp movement, timing, and smart positioning.
  • Procedurally Generated Dungeons – repeatable dungeon runs with shifting layouts, enemies, bosses, and drops.
  • Unique Permadeath Mechanic – death ends the character, but converts progress into Valr to power up future runs through Legacies.
  • Crafting System – gather resources in the world and turn them into weapons and equipment for your next push.
  • Fair Microtransactions premium currency can be earned via daily quests and is not required to participate or progress.
  • Pixel Art Graphics – a charming retro look that channels classic 16-bit era readability and style.
  • Unlockable Classes – begin with Harbinger, Alchemist, and Infiltrator, then unlock more options at level 25.
