Garlock Online
Garlock Online aimed to fuse classic MMORPG progression with shooter-style combat, letting players build a character from three classes and bring a summoned monster into fights as a companion. On paper it reads like an unusual genre mashup, with instanced missions, loot-driven upgrades, and social play through factions, even if the game is now no longer active.

Garlock Online Overview
Developed and published by HellconX Games, Garlock Online is an MMORPG shooter built around quick combat encounters, character growth, and collectible gear. Players pick from three distinct classes, each with its own set of abilities to unlock over time, and then head into short instances, quests, and raids to earn experience and chase drops. A standout system is the monster summon feature, which allows everyone to call a creature into battle and train it as a fighting partner, giving solo play a bit more flexibility and adding another layer to character building.
Progression is driven by the usual MMO loop of leveling up, improving equipment, and tackling tougher content, with gear acquired through enemy drops or through the Item Shop. The game also supports group-oriented play through a faction system, encouraging players to team up for bonuses and buffs tied to participation. Outside of the core combat and PvE activities, Garlock Online includes crafting, PvP options, and even a hunger and food mechanic that asks you to pay attention to basic survival upkeep while adventuring in its colorful 3D world.
Garlock Online Key Features:
- Three Unique Classes – select from three class choices, each offering different skills and combat roles to shape your build.
- Get a Pet – summon various monsters and raise them into reliable battle companions.
- Unique Blend of Genres – combines familiar MMORPG progression and loot chasing with shooter-inspired action.
- Join a Faction – team up in a faction to play socially and earn buffs and bonuses through involvement.
- Tiered Raid System – raids scale by difficulty, with harder tiers offering improved rewards and more demanding fights.

Garlock Online Review
Garlock Online is an interesting case of a small-scale MMO trying to bridge two audiences, players who enjoy the long-term growth of an MMORPG and players who prefer the immediacy of shooter combat. The idea is straightforward: pick a class, jump into compact instances, shoot and use skills, collect loot, and gradually unlock stronger abilities and better gear. In practice, the game’s best moments come from that fast loop, where you can hop into a short activity, make visible progress, and then pivot into the next objective without the slow travel and downtime that sometimes pads out traditional MMOs.
The class system is kept intentionally simple with only three options, which helps new players understand their role quickly, but it also limits long-term variety. Where the game tries to compensate is with the monster companion mechanic. Summoning a creature to assist in combat adds a second “track” of progression and a bit of personalization, since your companion can influence how fights play out. It is also a helpful support for players who prefer to tackle content without relying on a group for every activity.
Content structure leans heavily on instanced battles, quests, and raids. That design fits the shooter side of the game, because it keeps encounters focused and repeatable, and it also supports a tiered raid approach that encourages players to return for better drops. Factions serve as the social glue, offering a reason to stay connected with other players and chase buffs tied to participation, which is important in any MMORPG that wants to feel like a shared world rather than a string of isolated missions.
On the downside, the English translation is a real barrier. Poor localization can make objectives unclear, weaken the story and flavor, and generally reduce a player’s confidence that they understand the systems correctly. Even if the combat loop has potential, communication issues tend to undermine onboarding and retention, especially for an MMO where players need readable UI and quest text to stay oriented.
It is also worth noting the game’s status. With the playerbase shut down and development abandoned in 2017, Garlock Online is better viewed as an example of an experimental MMORPG shooter concept rather than a living service to invest in today. For players browsing MMO history or researching niche Steam-era projects, the mix of shooter combat, pet companions, and raid tiers remains the most memorable part of its design.
