Fable Fortune
Fable Fortune was a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the Fable universe, built around tactical, turn-based duels where positioning and timing mattered as much as deckbuilding. It mixed familiar Albion flavor with a few standout systems, most notably a morality choice you made during matches that could alter how your hero and certain cards developed. Players could queue for PvP, tackle solo quests, or team up in co-op battles against AI opponents before the game ultimately shut down.

Fable Fortune Overview
Fable Fortune is a free-to-play 3D collectible card game that pulls from the lore, characters, and visual identity associated with the broader Fable series. You pick from six different heroes, each with a distinct kit and playstyle, then build a deck aimed at controlling the board and outsmarting your opponent over a series of turns.
What makes it more than a standard lane-based card battler is how progression and choice are woven into matches. A card-leveling system lets specific cards you bring regularly gain levels over time, encouraging long-term attachment to a deck rather than constant churn. On top of that, each match asks you to lean toward good or evil through your decisions, and that moral alignment can change how your hero and certain cards evolve during the battle. Good and evil paths are not just cosmetic, they push you toward different strengths and tradeoffs.
Beyond competitive play, the game supported multiple ways to play. You could climb a PvP ladder, work through campaign-style quests, or queue into co-op fights where you and a friend shared control of units on the board while facing AI challenges. An events system rounded things out by rotating special rule sets and reward tracks to keep routine play from feeling too repetitive.
Fable Fortune Key Features:
- 3D Graphics – The game presents matches in a 3D tabletop-like view, adding depth and readability compared to flatter card battlers.
- Part of the Fable World – Albion references, tone, and recognizable themes make it an easy fit for Fable fans who wanted something adjacent to the RPGs.
- Morality System – Your good or evil decisions influence in-match evolution, changing how heroes and certain cards behave as the game progresses.
- Co-Op Gameplay – Team up against AI in a mode where both players operate on a shared battlefield, creating coordination moments that PvP does not offer.
- Events System – Rotating events aim to provide ongoing challenges with tiered rewards and gameplay modifiers.

Development History / Background:
Fable Fortune is a free-to-play CCG developed and published by Flaming Fowl Studios, with the studio also working in collaboration with Mediatonic. The project draws directly from the Fable franchise created by Lionhead Studios, and it was co-founded by former Lionhead team members who wanted to build a card game rooted in that setting.
Development was initially tied to a Kickstarter campaign that began on May 31, 2016, targeting a £250,000 goal. The campaign was cancelled after the funding target was not reached, but work on the game continued regardless. A closed beta followed in 2016, and Fable Fortune eventually launched on Steam on February 21, 2018. The servers later went offline, and the game was shut down on March 04, 2020.
