Escape From Tarkov
Escape From Tarkov is a hardcore first-person shooter built around high-stakes raids in a devastated city. Players accept quest lines that slowly reveal what happened in Tarkov, then enter large locations to scavenge, fight, and extract while competing against other players and hostile AI. Progress carries over between raids, and the economy is heavily shaped by what players loot, trade, and risk bringing into the field.

Escape From Tarkov Overview
Escape From Tarkov is a punishing, open-ended FPS with noticeable RPG-style progression layered on top of tactical gunplay. Set in the fictional, conflict-ridden region of Tarkov, it drops you into raids where the goal is not simply to win fights, but to survive, secure loot, and make it out alive. Every run becomes a risk calculation, what you carry in can be lost, and what you extract with becomes fuel for future raids and upgrades.
At the start, you align with one of two rival Private Military Companies: the Western-backed USEC or the Russian-origin BEAR. That choice frames the conflict and the atmosphere, while the core loop revolves around taking on quests, exploring contested facilities, and piecing together the motivations behind the ongoing war. Raids can be attempted solo or with allies, but coordination matters because sound, positioning, and resource management are just as important as aim.
Beyond weapons and armor, Tarkov tracks a wide set of character conditions. Your performance is influenced by factors like stamina and tremors, and the game also expects you to pay attention to things such as toxication and blood pressure. Over time, repeated actions contribute to advancement across nearly 100 trainable skills, giving the game a long-term progression arc that complements its moment-to-moment tension.
Socially, Tarkov supports organized play through clans. Groups can focus on combat efficiency and hunting targets, or lean into the economic side by building relationships, controlling supply, and turning risky loot into profit through trading.
