Days of War
Days of War is a World War II themed first-person shooter built around coordinated, squad-focused play. Instead of lone-wolf run-and-gun, it pushes players to pick a battlefield role, communicate, and use positioning to win firefights on maps inspired by historic locations, with period-appropriate weapons and large lobbies that can scale up to 100 players.

Days of War Overview
Days of War drops players into punishing WWII firefights where victory usually comes from coordination rather than raw aim alone. Matches are built around squads that mix and match more than eight combat roles, including options like Assault, Sniper, and Rocket Soldier, each bringing different tools and tradeoffs. A balanced group matters, since the strengths of one role often cover the weaknesses of another, especially when pushing objectives or holding key lanes.
Gunplay leans toward a more grounded style: you are expected to manage recoil, make your shots count, and work with limited ammunition instead of spraying endlessly. The weapon roster includes 20+ firearms, and learning their handling is a meaningful part of getting comfortable in combat. The battlegrounds aim for a historical vibe, featuring recognizable settings like Omaha Beach and snowy Kaysersberg, with match sizes ranging from smaller 32-player games to chaotic 100-player brawls.
On top of public matches, the game supports community involvement through hosting and mod-friendly options, letting players create and share custom content such as maps and modifications.
Days of War Key Features:

- Team-First Role Play – build squads around 8+ roles, where coordination and coverage matter as much as marksmanship.

Days of War Review
Days of War aims for the classic WWII multiplayer fantasy, structured around clear roles, familiar weapon silhouettes, and maps that encourage squads to move as a unit. In practice, it often succeeds at delivering tense, sightline-driven firefights where a good flank, a well-timed smoke, or a coordinated push can swing an entire round. It is at its best when players treat it like a team game, because the pacing and lethality tend to punish anyone trying to solo the objective.
The role system is one of the strongest pillars. With a roster of 8+ roles, squads can cover multiple needs at once, such as close-quarters pressure, ranged picks, and anti-armor or anti-position tools. The match flow naturally creates moments where a Sniper can slow an advance, while Assault players capitalize on openings, and specialists help crack entrenched defenders. That interplay gives the game a tactical flavor even when the overall objective is straightforward.
Weapon handling supports that tone. Recoil is present, ammunition is limited, and firefights can be decided quickly, which pushes players to value cover, angles, and discipline. The 20+ weapons provide variety without turning the game into a loot chase, and the period focus helps the arsenal feel cohesive rather than bloated.
Map design leans into recognizable WWII environments. Settings like Omaha Beach and Kaysersberg are built to produce contested lanes and dangerous open crossings, which naturally creates a push-and-pull rhythm. When teams coordinate, these spaces can feel excellent, with suppressing fire and incremental advances. When teams do not coordinate, the same layouts can become frustrating, especially if one side locks down approaches and the other repeatedly feeds into the same choke points.
That frustration is amplified by some rough edges typical of smaller-scale FPS projects. Spawn camping can be too achievable in certain situations, and once a team gains control near spawn routes, matches can snowball. Movement also has moments where it feels stiff, which can make close-range duels and quick peeks less satisfying than they should be. None of these issues erase the fun, but they do make the overall experience feel less polished than the best games in the genre.
The modding and hosting angle is an important part of the package. Being able to host games and share custom content gives Days of War a path toward longevity, even if the playerbase is labeled as low. For players who enjoy community servers, custom rulesets, or experimenting with user-made maps, this side of the game can be a major draw.
Overall, Days of War is easiest to recommend to players who miss older, role-driven WWII shooters and are willing to accept some jank in exchange for large matches and teamwork-centric gameplay. If you want pristine movement and perfectly tuned spawns, you may bounce off it. If you want hectic frontline battles that reward coordination and class synergy, it offers a solid foundation.
