Auto Battle

Auto Battle is a free-to-play mobile MMORPG built around an idle, auto-combat loop. Your character continuously clears enemies in repeatable dungeon runs for experience and drops, while your main input is deciding when to challenge the stage boss to push into the next zone. It is essentially a progression and loot-management game first, with MMO-style systems layered on top.

Overview

Auto Battle Overview

Auto Battle is a free-to-play mobile MMORPG that leans heavily into automation. Developed by Playcomet and published by E-Wan Entertainment, it has your chosen hero repeatedly battling dungeon enemies without constant screen taps, steadily accumulating levels and loot. Progression is gated primarily by boss fights, you decide when to attempt the next boss, and a win opens up the following area and its improved rewards.

Most of the engagement comes from managing what you earn. Loot drops include both equippable gear and crafting materials, and the Forge is where the long-term power growth happens through crafting and upgrades. On top of the core grind, Auto Battle also includes PvP (unlocked later), equipment enhancement systems, and team-based combat elements that add another layer of optimization beyond a single character build.

Auto Battle Key Features:

  • Auto Play – an idle, turn-based RPG loop that keeps progressing with minimal input, including while the app is not actively open.
  • 3 Playable Classes pick from Warrior, Hunter, or Mage, each with a distinct role and feel.
  • Improve Your Gear – craft and strengthen equipment through the Forge to keep up with tougher bosses.
  • Move Forward by Bosses – zone advancement is driven by choosing the right moment to challenge a boss and clear it.
  • Test Your Strength Against Others – a PvP mode becomes available at higher levels for competitive progression.

Auto Battle Review

Auto Battle is best understood as an early example of the idle RPG formula applied to an MMORPG-style framework. The game’s moment-to-moment “combat” is largely hands-off, so the real gameplay is in planning your growth, deciding when you are strong enough to push a boss, and continuously improving your equipment to keep the automation efficient.

Progression is straightforward and initially satisfying. Early areas move quickly because your character tears through packs of monsters and your inventory fills with materials and gear upgrades at a steady pace. That steady reward cadence is the main hook, you are almost always making some kind of improvement, whether it is swapping to a higher-stat item, crafting a needed piece, or investing resources into upgrades.

The Forge and item systems are where Auto Battle does its best work. Crafting gives purpose to the large volume of materials you collect, and the upgrade loop provides long-term goals beyond simply leveling. If you enjoy games where “build strength” is the primary activity, the structure here is clear and easy to follow, and it gives the auto-play design something meaningful to support.

Where the game can struggle is in pacing and presentation. As you progress further, the experience can slow down considerably, with longer stretches of grinding before a boss attempt feels realistic. The lack of strong combat animations or impactful feedback also makes extended sessions feel flatter than other RPGs, even if the numbers are still moving upward.

PvP adds a competitive outlet, but it is also where the business model is most noticeable. As with many free-to-play titles from this era, spending can translate into combat advantages, and that can make competitive play feel uneven depending on the server environment and how invested other players are in the cash shop.

Class variety is another limitation. With only three choices (Warrior, Hunter, Mage), the game leans more on gear progression than on deep class customization. That is not necessarily a deal-breaker for an idle-focused title, but it does reduce experimentation and replay value compared to RPGs with broader archetypes or more flexible builds.

Overall, Auto Battle delivers a simple, low-effort progression loop with a surprisingly engaging crafting and upgrading backbone, but it is held back by limited visual flair, late-game slowdown, and balance concerns around PvP monetization. It is the kind of game that works best for players who want constant incremental growth without needing active, skill-based combat.
