Pantheon teases Nightfall Crypt mini-dungeon ahead of this month’s update

Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is getting its first Nightfall Crypt in an update coming later this month, and Visionary Realms is starting to set the stage. The studio just posted some backstory for the dungeon feature ahead of launch.

Nightfall Crypts were previously described as smaller-scale dungeons meant for a group to finish in a single session, rather than the game’s larger “premier” dungeons. This first one will also include an entrance mechanic players will need to figure out before they can head inside. After the initial release, the team says it plans to drop more crypts into different parts of the world over time.

On the lore side, Visionary Realms’ developer blog paints Nightfall Crypt as an underground complex tied to “ritual erasure,” unrecorded mass burials, and an undead-controlled system operating under a powerful being called Sarulith. The post also suggests the place was once run by a secret mortal group focused on stripping people of their identities, wiping names, affiliations, and public record.

The blog goes on to tease a bit about the crypt’s different spaces and how they were used, but it’s mostly mood-setting rather than a mechanics breakdown. If you’re looking for a clearer idea of what the dungeon will play like, it sounds like we’ll have to wait for the update itself later this month.
