Look forward to Nidus Prime Access in Warframe, take on a new boss like behemoth in Dauntless, Rampart is taking over Apex Legends, and the recent update for blade & soul is the Unreal one everyone’s been waiting for!

What’s good everyone, JamesBl0nde here with the weekly recap for gaming news and announcements for the week of September 10th 2021

Heads up, battle royale and Vampire: The Masquerade fans! The free to play battle royale, Bloodhunt, is now in early access on PC through Steam. The game’s undergoing some network testing through the first week of early access, but will continue into early access until the game reaches a more polished state. Not only that, but Bloodhunt has just revealed that it will launch on PlayStation 5 later this year – no word, however, about PlayStation 4 players.

Rogue Company welcomes its newest Rogue this week – Runway. Raised by spies of the Cold War, Runway uses her career as an international fashion model as a cover for her own career in espionage and arms dealing. Runway uses two primary weapons – both a sniper rifle and a fully automatic assault rifle. Her skills include a resupply briefcase that can grant her teammates infinite ammunition and refills gadgets, making her invaluable on a team. This update also introduces the new Weapon Mastery system, which lets players gain mastery with their favorite weapons and use them on multiple Rogues, as well as earn cosmetic weapon wraps. Pretty cool update, so make sure to check it out!

Speaking of team shooters, Rampart is taking over Apex Legends!  She’s completely revamped Rampart Town, installing Big Maude — her custom shop that doubles as a giant tank.  While large enough to function as a combat zone, its true purpose is a mod center to upgrade their guns should they not find suitable in the field.  She’s also invading arenas, offering her mod services at a discount.  Earn her heirloom wrench, Problem Solver, and see what technology could do for the likes of Wraith, Octane, Pathfinder, Fuse, Bangalore, Lifeline, and Rampart herself with all new skins!

Episode 3, Act 2 has just kicked off in Valorant, and at the center of this update is the new map, Fracture. A remote Kingdom Research base, the map has an H-shaped layout with a dual biome environment and zipline routes – plus the game’s first interactive narrative objects. Word is, the Immortal ranks are returning too. There’s also a new battlepass and a new collab if you’re looking for some shiny new looks.

In similar news, Ninjala’s about to get spooky with season 7!  This update to the popular team brawler offers players brand new Fall costumes for their characters, both macabre for Halloween and stylish for Back-to-School. You can earn all of the new costumes in the new Ninjala Pass Matsuri, or in the shinobi shop. Not only that, experience the new Paw-xing Gloves and Ogre Gloves gum weapons and Fashion Lenses to change your eye appearance!  With tons of UI improvements and balance fixes, jump into Season 7 now!

Next up, Warfame’s latest update is now live across all platforms, introducing Nidus Prime, a powered-up version of the warframe Nidus, plus unlock exclusive customizations. Alongside the Nidus Prime Access, the Operation: Plague Star event has returned! During this event you can rally up on the Plains of Eidolon to battle against infested lifeforms – and earn rewards, including the new Ghoulsaw weapon. The event will go on for three weeks so make sure to drop in and get your gear.

From one hunt to another, ready to hunt a new beast in Dauntless? The latest patch, 1.7.4, introduces the new behemoth Ostia, found in the Blazework. It will take slaying other behemoths on the island and activating a series of valves to summon this creation to the forge arena, so prepare for a deadly battle! The update also includes the new Omnisurge perk, a new quest line, and more.

Neverwinter’s Jewel of the North update, which brought the bard class to the game, is now going to get a free battlepass. Titled Echoes of Prophecy, the pass will offer a campaign over three milestones, starting on October 1st for both PC and console. Investigate the return of the Cult of the Dragon, battle new enemies and look forward to the additional milestones on November 1st and December 1st. Rewards for this campaign include new mounts, cosmetic items, and emotes, with free rewards for playing through the campaign plus additional rewards available with purchase of the premium battle pass.

Speaking of updates, the Unreal Engine 4 update for Blade and Soul is now live.  That’s right, the long awaited graphical remaster for the popular MMORPG is complete, and with it comes a whole new class. The Dual Blade master can be created for the Jin and Yun races, offering fast paced, combination attacks to fell their enemies left and right.  A new dungeon awaits, this time for four players.  The Forest of Echoes notices a shift in dungeon design, as all future dungeons will be four players instead of six.  New quests, items, and events are available in addition to the new class, dungeon, and improved graphics.

War Thunder has taken a Direct Hit with its latest update, and this is a packed one! There are 17 new and updated aircraft, 12 new ground vehicles, and 15 new naval vessels – making a huge introduction to anyone’s armory. Not only that but there are two new battlegrounds, Spaceport and Breslau, plus an updated test drive range. Check out the notes linked in the description for all the dirty details.

If you were wondering, it’s been six years since World of Warships sailed out of beta, and the game is celebrating and throwing in update 0.10.8 to boot. For the anniversary, expect battle bonuses starting September 17th, plus special ship camouflages, a special flag and more. The rest of the update will include the release of all Dutch Cruisers to research, new Soviet aircraft carriers to early access, the Aircraft Bureaus Rivalry event, temporary convoy events and more. Once again you’re best checking out the link below for all the details!

Warface’s Heist season has already kicked off on PC, and now it’s time for console players to join in on the action. This new season includes the new PvP map, Heist, for Blitz mode, featuring a two-level bank located in a skyscraper. Players can uncover new Shapeshifter themed equipment, new weapons, and new police and special forces enemies. It’s all the action of the action movie heists, so log in and start stealing.

Lastly, as usual, we have the Epic Games’ Store free games of the week.  First is Nioh: Complete Edition, a brutally difficult hack-and-slash reminiscent of Dark Souls but set in Feudal Japan.  Second, we have Sheltered, a survival management game which tasks you to tend to a family of four who’ve found an abandoned shelter after a global apocalypse. Hmmm could be fun!

But with that said, that’s about it for all the major news and announcements for this week. Be sure to stay safe, and keep your families healthy!
