X-Force Joins Deadpool in Fortnite: 0:22

To kick us off, Fortnite’s got another injection of pop culture as the X-Force has joined Deadpool this past week. That’s Cable, Psylocke, and Domino from the Marvel Universe – all now also available as skins alongside the fan-favorite Deadpool. There’s still some time left to unlock Deadpool too, as he’s available until the end of the season, so long as you can complete the challenges on time.

SMITE God Reveal – Baba Yaga, The Witch of the Woods: 0:52

And this week SMITE’s released its newest god, Baba Yaga, the Witch of the Woods. Baba Yaga is a Slavic Mage with a unique moving Cabin passive that can evolve item stacks, heal, or go crashing down on her enemies. Not the kind of goodly witch you want to meet in the woods! The update also includes the next chapter of the Grim Omens event, unlocking new lore, skins, all of which are awesome this time around, I’ve got my eye on Snydicate Da Ji, and a possible teaser at the next god.

Vindictus Season 4: Episode 1 – Cesar Teaser: 1:24

Meanwhile Vindictus is still going strong as it just released its Season 4 Episode 1 update, which includes a brand new raid battle shown in these clips, a new material dungeon, along with new story to get you immersed in the moment before battle. The update also includes a level cap bump to 105, with new gear to collect. There’s also a load of balance changes and a new special event that runs through August, so make sure to click the link below to grab all the details.

MapleStory 15th Anniversary Pixel Party: 1:49

In other news, nothing will make you feel old like hearing that MapleStory is having its 15th anniversary party. But that’s life, and the Pixel Party is underway. The event runs through May 13 and includes daily login giveaways, legendary equipment, and the ability to create one Mega Burning Project character per world that can unlock even more rewards. There’s also a special welcome event ongoing to welcome MapleStory 2 players, who were recently stranded by the spinoff MMO shutting down.

Conqueror’s Blade: Season III – Soldiers of Fortune Release Trailer: 2:21

Switching to more intense MMO gaming news, Conqueror’s Blade has officially launched its Season 3, called Soldiers of Fortune. New in this Season is the Maul weapon class, a heavy two-handed hammer which can be unlocked at Nobility Tier 25 in the Battle Pass for free. There’s also four new units which include new soldiers, pikemen, crossbowmen, and even gunners. And of course there’s a ton of seasonal rewards to unlock in the Battle Pass that includes themed cosmetics and more.

World of Tanks Update 1.9 Review: 2:49

And over in World of Tanks, Update 1.9 has rolled out and it’s a big one. It includes a reworked tech tree that’s easier to navigate, and more logical so you can calculate your optimal progression for what you want. There’s also new collector’s vehicles in all tiers, and low-tier vehicles are getting HP boosts and better durability progression to make it easier to fight in these vehicles and work toward higher tiers. All of this ties right into the World of Tanks 10th Anniversary which includes special events.

Shadow Arena Early Access Announcement: 3:17

Meanwhile, Pearl Abyss has announced that its hero-based battle royale, Shadow Arena, will launch into Steam Early Access on May 21. This post-beta period will let Pearl Abyss focus on finalizing the game and adding features and changes based on the community’s feedback so far. If you’re not familiar, Shadow Arena is a spin off of a mode that originally existed in Black Desert, and it’s a PvPvE style battle royale with some elements of a MOBA – namely that you have heroes rather than created characters, and that you can level up skills mid-match. It’s an interesting take.

Torchlight III: Your Fort Your Way: 3:53

Switching away from MMOs, Torchlight III is back this week with a new video showcasing their fort system. A new system to the Torchlight series, Forts become available early in the first Act, and add a new level of bonuses and customization to your character and playstyle. Forts are more than just a cosmetic home, as you can place special buildings and items in your fort that will grant boons. And because forts can appear in other people’s games as they travel, you’re helping others in addition to yourself. Pretty cool new system.

PUBG: Season 7 Gameplay Trailer: 4:23 & 6:01

And while Fortnite may be messing around with Deadpool, PUBG has launched Season 7.  This season sees the return of the snowy island of Vikendi, alongside the updated and rebranded Dinoland theme park! Vikendi also has several new trains you can ride to get across the terrain instead of snowmobiles or snowbikes, and less snow so you don’t go snow blind. There’s also a new Survivor Pass, new cosmetic items, new weapons and more, so make sure to drop in if you haven’t played in a while.

Borderlands 3 – Revenge of the Cartels Official Trailer: 4:52

In more shooter news, and news I was definitely excited about hearing, Borderlands 3 has kicked off its new Revenge of the Cartels event. Styled after the bright shock pop of the 1980s, the event runs until June 4, and includes a new area, new enemies, and special challenges to complete. Of course, all of this comes with a helping of loot for your efforts. At the same time, Borderlands 3 has also added Mayhem Mode, a post-game content that lets you ramp up the difficulty to keep on playing. I’m actually excited for the level cap increase as well, not a bad addon, its kind of a free DLC event if you ask me.
