Travian is a 2D browser based MMO strategy game with still images as graphics. The game came out well before Evony, Caesary, Lords Online and most other strategy MMOs. The game plays largely like every other strategy MMO, except with one exception. Travian actually has an end-game objective. Whichever player or clan constructs a wonder first wins.
