What’s good everyone, JamesBl0nde here with the weekly recap for gaming news and announcements for the week of November 13th 2020, and we’ve got a very very short and sweet news week as developers start to head home for the holidays, wait its 2020 they’re probably already working from home… regardless it’s a short week of news so with out further banter
This week we’re kicking off with the launch of the highly anticipated Destiny 2 expansion, Beyond Light. The expansion introduces the new region of Europa, an extensive new story line, and a new six-person raid. It also adds a new power – Stasis – which adds new subclasses to each main class. And if you’re new, there’s a fresh new player experience to help you get started. The launch also brings the start of the Season of the Hunt, special seasonal events with limited time rewards, artifact and season ranks, and the Hawkmoon Exotic Quest.
Meanwhile Vigor has kicked off its sixth season this week, introducing the Junkers – a faction inspired by cult movies and post-apocalyptic themes. Their arsenel include a sawed off shotgun, goalie masks, decoys, and armor plating. The update also introduces nighttime modes, map dynamics, new shelter features, improvements to daily challenges and encounters, and much more.
In other news, Nexon’s cross-platform MMO V4 has announced that next week players will get the anticipated Archer class, the fastest attacking character so far. Also new in the update is the Anguished Forest area and the Phantom Abyss Dungeon. The update will hit November 18th and will include a 14-day login event, bonus experience during prime time, and more.
If you’ve been wanting a little more Mad Max styled content, ArcheAge has you covered with its new major update, the Rise of Nehliya. It introduces the new open area, Mysthrane Gorge, where you can race down in vehicles and attack giant armored beasts. There’s also new raids including Nehliya, Queen of Annihilation, who definitely does not look like she wants to be messed with. Add in a new farmhand system, nine new main story quests, and more and you’ve got a lot to experience.
And Neverwinter has reached its final milestone in the Redeemed Citadel campaign. Players can finally create characters as the Aasimar race, which offers a minor boost to health, healing, and damage dealt along with bonus ability scores. Also unlocked is the Forge, where hunt and divine armor can be crafted. With this Neverwinter has also launched on the Epic Games Store, if you prefer to game there.
Speaking of the Epic Games Store, let’s finally get to it and wrap it up with this week’s free game: The Textorcist. If you’re still vibing with Halloween, or enjoy typing games and bullet hells, this freebie is probably for you. You play as an exorcist and must type exorcisms while dodging bullets, all while trying to save Rome. Pretty crazy but hey it’s free until next week that is. No lie, I got a new gaming keyboard this past week, and this could probably be a good gaming way to break it in.
But with that said, that’s about it for all the major news and announcements for this week. Be sure to stay safe, and keep your families healthy!
