Mythos introducing Lamento system

The upcoming Mythos Europe update will add a new PvP system, ‘Lamento,’ as well as raise the level cap from 50 to 51.

Lamento becomes available at level 50. Players can then form teams on Heaven Island, and register for 1v1 or 2v2 battles, which take place in the Lamento Arena. Inside the arena, players will face off against the opposing team, along with monsters, and can use these, grenades, and bandages to their advantage. The last person to stand will determine the winning team, which will be rewarded Lamento Points. These can then be exchanged for powerful, rare weapons, armors, and pets.

Mythos is published in Europe by Frogster, which also publishes Runes of Magic.

Update to Offer New PvP Feature: The Lamento System

It’s time to give the poor monsters a rest! Players have been honing their combat skills on the beasts from Uld for long enough. Soon they will have the chance to hack’n’slash something else – each other! The Mythos update to be released shortly will offer a change of pace from the usual dungeon crawling. In addition to the new ‘Dungeon Master’ feature and raising the level cap from 50 to 51, it will also introduce the ‘Lamento’ PvP system. Players will then be able to kick the crap out of each other in exciting arena battles.

Players who have reached level 50 will be able to form a Lamento Team with the Lamento Master NPC on Heaven Island. Then they can either register for a 1 vs. 1 battle to play solo against another player or partner up and take on an opposing duo in a 2 vs. 2 battle. The team will be matched randomly with an opponent and teleported automatically to the stylish Lamento Arena, where either sweet victory or bitter defeat awaits them.

Last Man Standing
In the circular arena, the crowd is cheering for the other team – and to make matters worse, the two teams are not the only ones on the bloody battlefield. There are also monsters traipsing about: cannon fodder for those who require corpses to execute their summoning skills. Those sacks of flesh, along with grenades and bandages, are the only aids allowed as potions may not be used in the arena. In the unlikely… erm, probable event of an untimely death, players in 2 vs. 2 battles will be given the option to watch their remaining teammate sweat and bleed as they continue to valiantly face the enemy. The last man (or Cyclops, Gremlin, or Satyr) standing determines which team wins the battle.

Winners will be rewarded with Lamento Points, which can be traded in for unidentified but special and particularly powerful weapons, armour, and even pets with the Lamento Equipment Merchant.
