Hearthstone Begins Pre-Purchase for August Expansion, ‘Saviors of Uldum’

Hearthstone dropped some big news this morning – the next expansion, Saviors of Uldum, is on the way! Coming on August 6th, 2019, Pre-Purchase for the expansion has begun, and 135 cards will be joining the game with this next installment in the Year of the Dragon. It picks up where Rise of Shadows and The Dalaran Heist leaves off as well. There will, of course, be intense new mechanics to explore to shake up the meta in incredible ways. There are a 50-pack and 80-pack bundle. The 50-pack bundles include a random Legendary card, and the Elise Starseeker card back, and the 80-pack includes those and a new playable Elise Starseeker Hero. The pre-purchase bundles are 49.99 and 79.99 USD, and one of each can be purchased per account.
“Starting with Rise of Shadows, and now with Saviors of Uldum, we’re refining game mechanics and exploring new ideas that will add even more layers of depth and strategic decision-making to
Hearthstone,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “We think these new cards, as well as the return of fan-favorite heroes from the League of Explorers ™ expansion, will continue making this the game’s most exciting and competitive year ever.”
In Saviors of Uldum, players join the League of Explorers – a crew of treasure seekers, and Azeroth’s unlikeliest heroes. They are working to stop the League of E.V.I.L. and will have to deal with terrifying new cards, like Plague Cards that feature powerful board-clearing effects, and a new creature type – Reborn. Reborn are restless mummified minions that will come back (with 1 health remaining) after being beaten. There are also all-new Quests, which is a returning mechanic but are now easier to achieve. These are game-changing objective cards, that will offer powerful alternate Hero Powers.
Saviors of Uldum card packs will be winnable in Hearthstone’s Arena mode starting with the expansion’s launch on August 6, and players can purchase them with in-game gold or real money at the same prices as Hearthstone’s other card packs. In addition, players who log in for a limited time * after release will be able to claim one of the new Legendary Quest cards, randomly selected from this set.
