Gameforge Celebrates World Health Day with Special In-Game Events

Play Apart Together Gameforge

Press Release

Gameforge — one of the leading Western publishers of popular multiplayer free-to-play online games, including AION, NosTale, Metin 2, OGame, SoulWorker, and TERA — is proud to announce today that it is celebrating World Health Day by joining the #PlayApartTogether initiative to help slow the spread of COVID-19 by keeping gamers at home and entertained. Gameforge and its development partners will host a series of exciting events and offer free in-game items within several of their most popular games, from April 7, 2020, until Easter Monday.

By joining the #PlayApartTogether initiative, Gameforge is following the lead of the world’s biggest game publishers to support the World Health Organization’s guidelines for physical distancing, encouraging its fans across the world to stay home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gameforge aims to do its part by treating its lasting global communities from its catalog of popular free-to-play titles with a bevy of in-game rewards, special events, XP boosts, bonuses, and more — to ultimately help players cope and distract themselves from the crisis while safe at home.

“During these challenging times of uncertainty, when it is so risky to go outside, we are happy to provide alternate worlds where people can come together to socialize, interact, and have fun from the safety of their homes,” said Alexander Rösner, CEO and Founder of Gameforge. “We are thankful to have such wonderful development partners and industry peers who make it possible to join the #PlayApartTogether cause.”

Starting today, World Health Day celebrations arrive in the following Gameforge titles:

Metin2 (MMORPG lovers)

Europe’s most successful MMO Metin2, which treats its thousands of active daily players with frequent content updates and in-game events, kicks off Gameforge’s World Health Day celebrations and support for the #PlayApartTogether initiative. Starting today, players can jump into Metin2 and obtain free health-conscious items from the shop and optionally join the new servers started today.

To honor healthcare workers worldwide who are at the frontlines of the pandemic, Metin2 players can equip themselves with a new Breathing Mask and First-Aid Suitcase, which are both unlockable during the event. Together, the two items may bring awareness to the importance of self-care and the value of healthcare professionals.
