Electronics Arts has a new Battlefield game in the works. Like Battlefield Heroes, this one will also be free to play. EA is establishing itself as a major player in the f2p market and this new game will fit in nicely with their other ‘Play4Free’ titles. Unlike Battlefield Heroes, this new game will have realistic graphics, and the traditional first-person view. There’s not much known about the game yet, but this trailer makes it look a lot like Battlefield 2. I distinctly remember camping on the map ‘Strike at Karkand’ which looks like the map shown in the trailer. Expect all the key Battlefield staples like multiple kits (medic, engineer, soldier, etc), various vehicles (planes, tanks, jeeps, APCs, etc), and large maps. There’s no release date set yet, but the official site is already taking closed beta applications.
