Colt Plays Blade and Soul! [1/25/2017]

Colt plays Blade and Soul, as requested by the viewers! We will, also as requested, be returning to this game on Friday’s stream, so if you want to play, or are wanting to see more of Colt’s adventures in the world of Blade and Soul, make sure you’re subbed to our Youtube channel, www.youtube.com/mmohut so you don’t miss out.

Blade & Soul is an action-oriented MMORPG developed by Team Bloodlust and Published by NCSoft. Based on the creative mind of famous South Korean artist “Hyung Tae-Kim”, Blade & Soul brings the world of Asian martial arts fantasy to life in this massively multiplayer online universe. Create your hero. Hone your martial arts skills. Unlock the secrets of Qing Gong. Choose your faction. Conquer your enemies. Bring honor to your clan.

As a pseudo-first experience with the game, and a refresher after having only played it a few times when it first launched, this was a lot of fun. The game is quite appealing visually and fighting stuff is, at least for now, fun. I’m not sure exactly how I’ll feel about it in a month or two, but that’s only partially to do with the game as a whole and more to do with my attention span. I definitely can’t wait to get to a point where I can do some dungeons on stream with the viewers and fight some bosses.

Someone in the stream also posited to me that the game would get boring eventually as it had for them and a bunch of people they know. Honestly, I could see it happening if the combat doesn’t introduce some new mechanics as you get into the aforementioned dungeons and boss-fights. At the very least it needs to pace enemy attacks just a bit faster. I definitely understand that the point of having such long tells is to give players (especially those with poor connections and/or high ping) to be able to respond to attacks by moving or by using counters, but as a class that relies on counters to do cool things, I found waiting for the telegraph to finish and the attack to come through to be the tiniest bit agonizing. All in all, though, the game was fun and I’m excited to do another session on Friday.

If you have a game you’d like to see me play on our Youtube channel, request it in the stream! I’m live from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday on our YouTube channel.
