Playdom is a large social games developer that primarily publishes their games for social networking sites like Facebook. Many of their games are available on other social networks including MySpace and on the official Playdom site. Playdom was acquired by Disney on July 27, 2010.

Playdom is a major social games developer founded in 2008 by Ling Xiao and Chris Wang. Playdom is the largest social game dveloper on MySpace, and one of the largest on the much larger Facebook social network. Many of their games can be played on the official Playdom site. On May 19, 2010 Playdom purchased the free to play MMO publisher Acclaim, but quickly shut down their entire portal.
The company was acquired by The Walt Disney Company on July 27, 2010. Disney payed $763 million for Playdom, which was the third largest social games company at the time.
