New Eagerly Anticipated Browser-Based MMORTS, Dragon Crusade, Enters Closed Beta
Fantasy-Themed Strategy Game joins Aeria Games’ Stable of Free-to-Play Titles
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – May 31, 2012 – Endless combat, construction, and competition await, as Aeria Games, a leading global publisher of free-to-play online games, announced today the massively multiplayer online (MMO) strategy game Dragon Crusade has begun closed beta testing. The game will allow players to govern their civilization’s rise to prominence while reducing rival kingdoms to dust with hordes of monstrous minions—all from within the ease and comfort of their own web browsers.
Dragon Crusade allows players to craft their own tales of the rise and fall of empires in an absorbing medieval world. An ever-evolving landscape forces players to adapt and grow if they want to stay ahead of the competition, building and maintaining not just one, but multiple cities forming extensive kingdoms—as well as the powerful armies necessary to protect them.
Dragon Crusade also offers an incredible level of customization rarely seen in browser games. Six playable races—from Dark Elves to sturdy Dwarves to the necromantic Azraen—make for very different gaming experiences through their unique buildings, troops, and abilities. In addition, highly customizable heroes level up through battle, allowing players to distribute their stat points, as well as equip them with better gear. A hero’s skills can be boosted even further with the addition of mounts and pets.
Several features encourage both cooperation and competition between players. They can form alliances with each other to take on the rest of the world as a united front, sharing key resources, technology, and buildings. When in a fighting mood, players can also pit heroes against each other in gladiatorial arena matches or send their heroes into a dungeon to search out spoils and glory.
Many fun events are planned for the closed beta to bestow prestigious awards like unique items and custom gear upon the most dedicated players. These events include challenges to produce the most resources, obtain the strongest equipment, and form one of the top five alliances. Even more prizes will be offered through surprise challenges that change daily!
Dragon Crusade is entirely browser-based and does not require a download, and like all Aeria Games titles, it is free-to-play. Players can register for the closed beta today at http://dragoncrusade.aeriagames.com.
