Torchlight – A New Diablo Like MMORPG?

Well firstly, Perfect World Entertainment [The company that makes Perfect World :) ], announced it will be publishing the upcoming MMORPG ‘Torchlight’ by Runic Games. The game was developed by some of the folks that worked on Diablo, Diablo 2, and Mythos. Hopefully those guys still have a little bit of Diablo in them, as Diablo 1 and 2 were some of the greatest games of all time.

Perfect World Entertainment has come together with Runic Games and announced their agreement to publish Runic’s upcoming title, “Torchlight.” This adventure-themed, action MMORPG is being worked on by developers of “Diablo,” “Diablo II,” and “Mythos,” including composer Matt Uelmen—also from “Diablo” and “Diablo II.”

We haven’t been given much information about the storyline and gameplay of “Torchlight,” but what we do know is that it involves adventurers seeking magic ore that imbues their equipment with power, but jeopardizes their very existence. It is emphasized that “Torchlight” will have a colorful and simple game world, so you can probably bet that this magic ore will be either very colorful or very sparkly.
