New in the patch is the Battle Royal, a 12 player free-for-all Deathmatch, with an added bonus for killing the ‘King’ (best player) in the room.  A new map named Galleon, featuring a Spanish-style airship, has been added to help support the new game mode as well. Hail to the King: S4 League Introduces New Battle Royal Mode with New Update

Latest Update Also Features a New Map, New Items, and In-Game Events

MUNICH – August 25, 2010Burda:ic, a leading publisher of online games worldwide, today announced Patch 21, the newest update for popular online third-person shooter S4 League. Patch 21 introduces a slew of exciting content, including an entirely new Battle Royal mode that allows players to shed their ties to team gameplay and battle it out in a free-for-all deathmatch. Along with this much anticipated ‘Everyone-vs-Everybody Else’ combat, Patch 21 also provides new items, colorful costumes, and access to the intensely close-quarters Galleon map!

Battle Royal mode, the first mode in S4 League which focuses on PvP fights over team play, pits 12 players against each other in a no-holds barred competition to see who can grab the most kills. During matches, players are awarded points for the hits they obtain and the player with the most hits during gameplay is crowned the King. Being the King isn’t easy, though, as hits they suffer are worth more than double the points of a regular hit, encouraging the remaining players to hunt the King ahead of all others.

The new Galleon map has been introduced just in time for Battle Royal, allowing players to try this Spanish galley-themed area in their quest for deathmatch supremacy or as a team in any of S4 League’s gameplay modes. Galleon is designed to give players an arena full of close-combat encounters, with hideouts and gangways littered throughout the stage.

If that wasn’t enough, beginners can also now purchase a Beginner SET, available in both female and male versions, each of which includes a complete costume, three weapons, two skills, HP +30, and Shield. Patch 21 features four new costume sets overall, two for each gender.

Two in-game events have been announced as part of launch of Patch 21, with the first one handing out a Kitch or Hockey SET for free to players who purchase one of the new Pirate, Sphere, Fist, or CheckShield SETs. The second in-game event awards bonus EXP and PEN to those who participate in Battle Royal fights, allowing players to level up their characters even faster just by checking out the new free-for-all mode.
