Top 5 Best Turn Based MMORPGs
Even though there aren’t that many free to play turn based MMORPGs out there, I felt I should create this list to help those looking for turn based MMORPGs to play. The top 5 Best Turn based MMORPG Games list below was compiled using review data from across the internet and from our own reviews here on MMOHut. Keep in mind the turn based MMORPGs below do not include browser based games, just client based ones. Those looking for free turn based MMORPGs need not look further.
Top 10 Best Fantasy MMORPGs / MMOs
Zodiac Online is a 2D turn based MMORPG published by EnjoyMMO – the same guys behind Magic World Online and Phoenix Dynasty Online. The game has cute 2D graphics with a unique ‘zodiac’ class system. In fact, the way the game is built there are nearly infinite different ways to build your character. Gameplay feels a bit slow paced and the visuals certainly feel dated, but for those that can look past these issues, the game is worth checking out.
#4 Wizard101
Wizard101 is a 3D turn based MMORPG with card based gameplay. The game has unique ‘western’ style cartoony graphics and has extremely high production value. Practically every quest in the game is voiced over, but the game’s one major downside is that it’s largely pay to play. The game has an unlimited free trial up to a certain point, but that certain point is reached within 5 hours of active play. The game’s limited free to play content is why it isn’t ranking higher on this list.
Even though Digimon Battle was originally released in South Korea nearly 10 years ago, WeMade decided to launch the game in North America in March 2010. Even though the game’s graphics and interface are fairly dated, it’s still an enjoyable game. Fans of the franchise will certainly appreciate the game a bit more than others. Even though the game doesn’t yet have nearly the 450+ Digimons in existence, there’s plenty of room for the developers to add content.
Wonderland Online is 2D MMORPG by IGG and is one of the most popular turn based MMORPGs out there. The game boasts a large playerbase and enough content to keep players entertained. The game has various crafting skills, instances, and a high level cap.
This one shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Atlantica Online certainly wasn’t the first turn based MMORPG, but it’s definitely one of the best. The game has gorgeous 3D graphics with an incredible amount of content as well as an in depth mercenary system. The game is one of Ndoor’s most popular titles and was released late 2008. The game was well received and praised across numerous MMORPG websites and magazines. If you haven’t play Atlantica Online yet and generally enjoy turn based games, you’re missing out.

Was kind of expecting Wizard101 to be 2nd or 3rd, but I definitely expected Atlantica. It just can’t compete with others.

I kind of see why Wizard101 didn’t come out 2 or 3. The game is downright amazing, but it’s largely pay to play. The free to play aspect is so limited =[.

Hey hey!!!??? How about the DOFUS? The best turn based MMORPG?
May 18, 2010

I agree with Skeitmens. DOFUS should have had a place on this list. It may be limited, but not as much as Wizard 101, and it’s way better then Wonderland Online. Just my input.

I think the problem with dofus is its largely a pay to play game.

So is Wizard 101. >_>

Too many drastic changes in Dofus, most likely kept it out. I’ve looked at several top 10 lists and it’s rarely mentioned. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

I played Wizard 101 in it’s early days, and honestly, it’s like a kid version of Runescape (In terms of community). I like the game, but after playing or so long, I had to quit. Unlike my brothers, who have spent a total of $600 combined on this game, I refuse to buy areas anymore. Still a good game.

Oldtime player of Mythwar here. I disagree about Mythwar deserving a spot on this list. The game itself has potential, and it can be a nice game to play. But there hasn’t been any new areas opened since the launch of MW2. The game is barely half finished, and I don’t think even IGG has any idea when MW3 will launch (which will probably only have 1-2 new areas and will probably be even more item mall dependant). And the GMs are lazy and barely come on except for events, and VIP players never get banned when they get caught scamming or hacking.
If we were talking about the Chinese MW2, or the old MW back when it had good GMs then I would agree.

The old Mythwar was epic, MW2 is… I love the game, but it’s S**t… I can’t wait for MW3, but it’s gonna take a few years to be launched I bet, they are prolly not even working on it. That’s why I hate Igg

I never liked Wonderland as much, it’s mainly for botters. Some people open 4 applications to have their characters in the same party and ‘burst’ their way through leveling, while having a remote that lets you auto walk and auto fight (you could probably get to level 100 in less than a day.) The item shop also gives a huge advantage such as stat increasement, great equipments, and more afk training tools.

Following my own analysis, millions of people all over the world receive the business loans from various creditors. So, there’s good chances to receive a bank loan in all countries.
