Top 10 Best Browser Games

There are literally thousands of browser games on the market, which makes it difficult for gamers to differentiate the good games from the bad ones. Even though MMOHut only reviews the most popular browser games (it would be impossible to review them all, there are THOUSANDs! With new ones being released every day), there are still quite a bit of ‘popular’ MMORPGs, so the list below should help gamers find the best browser games. The top 10 Best Fantasy MMORPG Games  list below was compiled using review data from across the internet and from our own reviews here on MMOHut. If you’re looking for the best fantasy MMORPG to play, you’ve arrived at the right place.

Top 10 Best Fantasy MMORPGs / MMOs

#1 RuneScape

10799 350x263 runescape desert

This one shouldn’t be much of a surprise, as Runescape really is the undisputed king of the browser game genre. The game boasts over 130 million accounts worldwide with over 8.5 million of them being considered ‘active’. Runescape has a lot of haters out there, but the numbers speak for themselves, Runescape is the most popular free browser MMORPG on the market. It’s also quite fun and one of the most content rich games I’ve had the chance to play.

#2 FusionFall

10139 350x263 fusion fall front view

Fusion Fall is a 3D Sci-fi MMORPG with great graphics and a large game world. It has some of the best production value of any browser game out there and enough content to keep players busy for a long time. Fusion Fall is Cartoon Network’s first big MMO game and features numerous popular character’s from the channel’s cartoons. Even though the game was largely designed for a younger audience, Fusion Fall is a great game well worth checking out for gamers of any age.

#3 zOMG!

10350 350x263 gaia zomg building

zOMG! is a popular anime style browser game with enormous potential. Players use powerful rings to battle enemies. The game was developed by the same folks that made the extremely popular Gaia Online virtual world / community. With lots of quests, a large game world and a genuinely good storyline, zOMG! is one of the best browser MMORPGs out there.

#4. Neopets

10403 350x263 neopets haunted woods

Neopets is an online virtual pet site where players can take care of and train their very own virtual pets. Neopets was likely the first ‘virtual pet’ game on the market, which may explain why the game is so popular. Even though the game is geared towards a younger audience, many older teens still play it. Heck, I still log in every once! With a large game world to explore and hundreds of mini games Neopets is certainly worth checking out.

#5 Adventure Quest Worlds

10496 350x263 adventure quest worlds dragon

Adventure Quest Worlds is a 2D Cartoony browser game by the same folks behind the enormously popular AdventureQuest and MechQuest games. Unlike the original Adventure Quest game, Adventure Quest Worlds has a much stronger emphasis on player interaction. The game world is also much larger.

#6 Evony

13460 350x263 evony city viewed

This one may be a bit controversial, as I’m sure everyone is tired of seeing the somewhat inappropriate Evony advertisements across the net. For those that haven’t heard of Evony, it’s a 2D fantasy themed empire building game that plays a lot like FreeSky. Players have to build up their empire and conquer their enemies. The reason Evony made it to this list is because it’s just too popular to ignore, as there are millions of people logging into the game each day.

#7) Dark Orbit

2053 350x263 dark orbit aliens

Dark Orbit is a 2D Sci-Fi browser action MMORPG published by Big Point. Players basically roam around space, defeat enemies and upgrade their ships. The game is without a doubt one of Big Point’s most popular titles, if not the most popular one. The game has over 50,000 players online at almost any given time.

#8 Sherwood Dungeon

14675 350x263 sherwood dungeon creation

Sherwood Dungeon is a simple yet entertaining fully 3D Fantasy MMORPG. The game actually has surprisingly good graphics and a large enough game world to keep players entertained for quite a while. The actual core gameplay itself also feels like a client based game, so the game actually has some depth. My only real complaint with Sherwood Dungeon is that the interface is terrible and the game needs more depth (More skills, quests, etc).

#9) Tribal Wars

11247 350x263 tribal wars starting

Tribal Wars is a fun fantasy themed empire building game where players have gather resources and expand their empire. Each player only starts with a single village and must eventually expand and conquer vast territories. Even though there are dozens of similar games, Tribal Wars is one of the best of its kind. The game has a healthy player base and a great deal of variety. Those looking for a fun strategy game to play should check out Tribal Wars.

#10 Club Penguin

15113 350x263 club penguin club

Club Penguin is a cartoony 2D virtual world designed for kids. This game may not be one of the most well known games amongst MMOHut’s audience, but it’s certainly one of the most played browser games out there. Club Penguin actually boasts a subscriber base well into the millions, so it’s fair to say that the game is enormously popular. With numerous mini games, customization options and a large community Club Penguin is a great game for youngsters.

I think people should stop putting Travian in Top-10 lists.

The game is not friendly to casual players AT ALL; its just about whoever is online 24/7, to the point where the only way you could survive is to spend real money, at least that was my experience.

    People already figured it out:
    -You pick Gauls.
-Get TTs (Raiding Cavalry) as fast as possible.
    -Get one (or more!) co-player(s).
    -Keep the account online 24/7.

    It is just I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E.

I have wasted so much time on the game, I did have SOME fun to be honest, but not NEARLY enough fun for the time I spent, sometimes the community helps if you are in a good alliance, but you can’t be in one unless you’re account is active 24/7.

Experience? I have played Travian for YEARS, and every now and then I go back now, I started playing the bloody game before heroes and oasis, so you can trust me.

If you’re into a strategy game with both macro-management and a decent (not great) micromanagement (like leading 10+ villages, drawing plans for evil world domination…etc.) Tribal Wars is pretty good for the casual gamers, but you have to be patient because Servers take literally YEARS to identify a winner, I have been on my server for about 4 years now, and we’re down to like 120 players.

    Peace.

You are all wrong the best game is the one YOU like i like Aqw more than Runescape or travian for me runescape is just *?”@ if you dont pay and i got bored in the first 2 weeks, club penguin is fun if you like to make friends or play mini-games,dark orbit is good is just that most of areas have PvP enabled and most players are pros there And aqw for me it is the best browser MMORPG i played and i will stay with it the only bad thing for me is that it has to much typos but i dont care of that.

if i picked a top two from your list, it’d be aqworlds and fusionfall.
if i made my own browser based top ten, here it is:
10.pockie ninja(because of automated battles, though epic vids.)
      9.runescape
8.bladehaven(AE((the makers of th next 6))minigame, though account required)
      7.warpforce
      6.adventurequest
      5.mechquest
      4.dragonfable
      3.epicduel
      2.AQW
      1.herosmash

incase you didn’t know, i am a HUGE fan of AE, which made all top 8 games.

by the way, herosmash(AE’s newest mmo, right next to ponyvspony.*shudder*)
is based on the AQW engine, but you get cool superpowers thrown in, too, plus they just released PVP.

Im kind of partial to Dark Orbit cause I play it..(hence the user name) It really is a blast to play if u hook up with the right people in what’s called clans. Action great..graphics kewl looking. But its getting very complicated to play with all the new client add ons and I have to say..it is the most expensive free game I’ve ever played. To be competitive u MUST spend money to get the in game currency just to keep up with the Jones’s so to speak.

People here clearly never played Crystal Saga, I can understand since it not that big on advertisement but the game itself I found honestly amazing, I have tried many MMOs and Crystal saga would be the best one I have Personally seen, though the lack of customisation of the characters is flagrant it gives the user a world of possibilites and extremely unique in-game experience like mini games or the fact that guilds are actually considered as high guilds and not alliances.

all in all a great game to try.

Runescape 1st? Whoever who made this, your logic is insanely screwed. Yes, there is a hell lot of players that are active on Runescape, but how does that make it ‘ undisputed king of the browser game genre ‘ ? The only thing that the huge number of players do is lag up the server which clearly cannot handle such a huge amount of players. Not show how good the game is.

    for all you rs haters:
Rune scape is the best browser mmo out there. It is one of the few that is in 3d and has a skill system better than any other broswer mmo out there. It has plenty of quests to keep you busy for a while and great character customization. Just because you got bored in the first 2 weeks doesnt mean that 8 million other people did. Im sick to death of you effing trolls hating everything that other people like; your opinion doesnt count for the world.
I reckon this list is spot on, althought im not sure about club penguin.
Crystal saga and Canaan online are some pretty cool games too.

Where the hell is Kingdom of Loathing? It’s superior to all these shit games who actually try to be serious and make a good browser game. The one truth: browser games will always be horrible. And Kingdom of Loathing actually is quite “immersive” once you get into it. So all you faggots arguing over whether Runescape or Crystal Saga or zOMG (the gayest name for a mmo I’ve ever heard) is better—you can suck my big hairy balls for dinner tonight. :)

This is a great review. I agree with runescape being #1. Because of the many people who have tried it and who still play it. It’s crazy popular! Plus i strongly feel that some games were left out here. Such as (Crystal Saga) I played that game for awhile. But some things are ridiculous about it like the amount of servers. The game is very fun though. I also think some of you should try (Grand Epic), (Pet Forest), & (Drakensang) They are all great MMO Browser Games (:!

-hey stupid! KoL is a browser game. and I highly doubt your “big hairy balls” even dropped yet.
@Sdarko I agree – the top game of any genre is what YOU like, I play as many if not more than omar, and like him, I prefer the “not-so-macho” type due to excellent game mechanics and game play as well as a good story – I mean really, only kids play the grinders (bc they can’t read) and why would anyone want to play a glorified pac-man game – yes, it needs a good story. Eye-Candy, although is nice, doesn’t always make for a good game. Some games like Crystal Sage for example, have too much “auto-this-n-that” thus making it boring after while. RS. is the only game I know of that’s made it to Ripley and I think, Guinness as well. I personally do not care for the game. but it works. All other games (since they are free) almost always fall prey to the “rich-boy” syndrome. Only a few manage it well enough that us poor boys can play and keep up. I think THOSE are the top browser games.

The list is based on what the mmohut workers like not on what most players like. What I’m trying to say is the top 10 games on this website is based on mmohut people’s opinions go search up top 10 browser games on another website you’ll see it’s different than this one.
